Music Producer and Doctor Team Up to Inspire Atlanta Youth to Reject Crime

A Grammy Award-winning music producer and a local doctor joined forces to host an anti-gang event in Atlanta aimed at inspiring young people to steer clear of criminal activities. Big Block Spencer and Dr. Scott Barbour were among the notable figures at the event, which encouraged middle schoolers from at-risk communities to pursue success and avoid violence. The gathering aimed to reach kids at a vulnerable age, typically when they are exposed to gang activity. With around 71,000 gang affiliates in Georgia, the event sought to provide guidance and motivation for youth to follow their dreams and make positive life choices.

Interactive Art Installation "Technoframes" Transforms into Live Techno Music with Touch

Technoframes, a groundbreaking art installation, merges art and electronic music into a captivating multi-sensory experience. Created by musician Max Björverud, this project harnesses the power of Raspberry Pi and capacitive sensing. When touched, the installation's hands trigger unique techno sounds through an open-source program called PureData, resulting in a dynamic, ever-changing techno track that complements the visual artwork. The installation demonstrates the innovative potential of combining technology and art to create interactive and immersive experiences.

Musicians Harness Uber for Creative Inspiration

Emerging Latine music artists, like Venezuelan musician Claudia Prieto and Miami-based DJ and music producer Oswaldo Dominguez (Oswave), are using their time driving with Uber as a creative space to refine their music careers. In collaboration with Remezcla and Uber, these artists get the opportunity to receive feedback from renowned music producer DJ Flow during their rides. Flow, known for working with Latin music stars like J Balvin and Justin Quiles, offers insights and encouragement to these musicians, making their Uber journeys more than just rides, but also valuable creative moments. The flexibility and reliable income that Uber provides enable them to balance their musical pursuits with everyday life.
